Fortress war

Fortress wars is an alliance event which you only can join with your alliance. In Fortress wars you fight against 8 alliances on a grid map to occupy strongholds.

  • The main teamwork goal is to occupy and hold as many strongholds as possible till the end in order to win with the most points as an alliance.
  • The individual goal is to kill as many troops as you can as this is the only way to build your individual ranking score.

Fortress war takes 45 minutes, and your alliance leader can choose a timeslot to participate.

Conditions to join

The condition to join is that your castle level is above level 20. For an alliance to join the battle power needs to be 500 million but this can change over time. Check the power requirement minimum on your event screen

The Event

Your alliance will start on the edge of the grid map. When the battle start you will be available to occupy strongholds. In the beginning, the strongholds are not all completely accessible since you will need occupy them and connect the dots.
With time the whole grid will be available if you can connect them.
Again, you can only conquer the castles that are adjacent to already conquered and hold castles. That means they must be touching on one of four sides of the box, not diagonally adjacent. The castles come in different levels – ranging from level 1 to level 5. The higher the stronghold level is, the more points you will be able to generate as a team. The castles that are closest to the centre will give most points. During the event you can heal your troops with the regular healing speeds.

Strategy

Before Fortress war starts make sure your artifacts, skills, achievements and equipment are all on the strongest battle settings. Do not forget this
Also activate the guardian shield when you have it. (You can get this with the artifact Athena’s Aegis.) Make sure all your troops are at home. Troops out of your castle will not be able to be used in fortress war.

During the battle you get individual point with killing your enemies. But remember that as a team with a time attack you will easier get the killing points. With the point you gained, you can get battle buffs and speeds. A good strategy not to use all your points for the buffs but save some for the end when the team is going to speed to conquer castles.

In the beginning of the game, it is the best, when you have conquered a castle, to recall all troops and send one horse to hold the castle. This prevents the other team to score a ton for their individual points; A castle can hold a maximum of army, but when a time-attack is done on your castle you will be slaughtered due to the overpower the attacker has with his time-attack. You have just limited army in the castle. Only in the last 5 minutes you need to send strong armies to the outer castles. It is advised to only defend your castles in the last 5 minutes. In the first 35-40 minutes it is better to wait until the fight is finished and conqueror the castle after

In the last five minutes the team has to give full force and speeds to conqueror what you can conqueror. This is the highest adrenaline moment of the game, enormous messy and fun!
